I got a simple question to ask you.

Is there a difference between these two sentences, and if so can you explain it to me?
1) Are you up to anything this weekend?
2) Are you up for anything this weekend?
Hey, don't use Dic .!!!

I guess:

1. The meaning of " to be up to" may be " to depend". This sentence can be understood as" Are u occupied by someone or something this weekend?" or " Are u busy this weekend?"
2. Are u ready to do something this weekend?, I think

Both questions appear to be the guide to an invitation

It's a tricky question. I am sure that I have used one of them now and then and still cannot recall which situation for each. I give it a shot.
The first one is when you ask if somebody has already planned anything for the weekend. The person who asks this question may know that the others have had a solid plan.
The second one is to ask if a person is available this weekend. The person who asks this question has no idea what the others are going to do.
